For Austria it was more a string of brutal force conversions, followed by annexation in separate wars. ;)

The concept of an HRE with independent states under the Emperor has been abandoded and was in the 30YW in history. Only the defeat at the hands of Sweden and France forced another retreat of the imperial forces from various duchies.

1.)I am not going to sit around nicely when others go around and annex little nations left and right, whilst I sit on my ass. And the CRC gave the Habsburgs an excellent excuse to subdue the HRE.

2.)If some people like Mulliman and Slargos sissy around because they lost a war, fine by me. But particulary from Mulliman it is getting annoying.

If I had been Barnius I would have scouted the whole corridor some time during the 16th century with a conquistador. But the rules of the game perhaps forbid that or you had an agreement beforehand that he should not do it.

Or is the abundance of Portuguese historical conquistadors not existent in the 1520 scenario? Do they get most of them before that date? I do not remember exactly.

There are a number of issues that need to be addressed following last nights somewhat disappointing game. When I have more than a couple of minutes free time I'll post properly on the matter.

I promoted some mayors in colonies, and expanded other colonies. I also built an art manufactory in London, and got inflation down. And I tried to repair the damage a braindead England did to trade.

But... I wasted some time and money trying to search for riches in West Africa - only to find out that the Ottoman heathens had already taken everything of value there...:(

You will have to declare war on Russia to get into the Siberian corridor from either side, Barnius, for you sure as hell are not getting military access. One nation, and one nation only, has been given military access into Russia, and that nation was Poland in connection with the Polish heir's ascendancy during the time of troubles, and even that extraordinary access is fairly likely to be canceled with no hard feelings some time soon.

The Tsar Mikhail I Romanov says: Only Russian soldiers on Russian soil!

(And on other peoples' soil, occasionally :D)

You (and all other) should not take everything I say too seriously :). Basically I am trying to make some powers so allarmed that they finally decide to declare a colonial war or do something :D.

Or I will just have to use "Nippon Method": when 5 year truce was nearly over, I started filling Kansai COT with my merchants. And they find it smart to embatgo PTC. And now they don't find anything smart any more :D

Uhm yes, but I was asked by Wyvern to come sub asap - what do you think he would have said if I responded with "sure, just let me read your entire thread first!"?:p

Of course, I could just follow it daily - but frankly, I pay little interest in games I do not participate in myself...;)

It's perfectly understandable, especially taking into account the NUMBER of posts following every session :)

Actually, when the five year period is over, I expect you to have to conquer the two provinces first, that I expect to be edited back to Nippon, given that you conquered five provinces from them in one war despite knowing that three was the max from non-Pagans. So, while you will no doubt end up controlling all of Japan (a scary thought in itself!) I predict it will take two more wars to do so, not one. :)

Exactly. Just look at the number of posts this morning alone...

Oh btw, I unknowingly broke your "no galleys outside certain waters" rule...:eek:o

Perhaps you can edit them to a lower number of warships instead?

Oh, and in case you wonder why I built galleys: Mulliman says they are good in home waters, they are cheap and they make the navy look big...:D

Nice try, but 3-province rule refers to European wars. Or not? The rule is at least dubious, although I admit I didn't think about it at all when fighting non-player nations!

Anyway, the outcome would by now be the same, so no need to bother with that :)
