Pardon me, but I see reason enough for Ivan to call himself the "Slaughter of Astrakhan, the opressor of Crimea, the slayer of Sibir, the tormentor of Azow and the humilator of Persia"
or simplified: "the Terrible" :D
It was for their own good! Their descendants will bless him for his actions! In fact, they already are, seing as there are rather more descendants alive in 1559 than surviving reckless traitors who fought against the Tsar in the three decades previous.

A little known fact is that in a recent poll conducted by the Chosen Council of the leading men of southern and eastern Russia, 81% supported the Tsar and praised him for his efforts, while 19% supported him and considered his efforts unmatched. The last 5% considered his efforts divinely inspired!

As such, with support from 104% of the southern Russian population, perhaps Ivan "the Benevolent" would be a more accurate description :)

EDIT: Please note that the Chosen Council in a fit of humility has elected to claim only 104% support despite having, in fact, 105%. They just are that nice, always ready to grant the opposition the benefit of doubt :)

Even talks about leaving the game should have been forbidden by rules. As I said in my final remarks about Machiavelli 1, it was VERY annoying seeing some player “leaving” and than very soon coming back to another country.
We are all mature people and capable enough EU 2 players, so everyone should stick to his country till whatever kind of the end of the country. NO switching countries should be allowed. As someone said, “…you'll reap what you have sown”. One has to finish what one started.

Damocles, I'm truly sorry that you mistook my opinion on the Brandenburg matter (only CB provinces offlimits)

the only reason I voiced it was that i felt it had not been given enough attention in the discussion (IIRC noone even responded to it..)

Ok folks lets keep the propaganda and such for the AAR's and let the royal scribes argue for posterity.
Indeed, let us keep this thread clean of propaganda and only relate sober facts.

The Chief Minion for the Economic Affairs of Russia relates the following sober fact: Russia.... The land of opportunity. A unique landscape of verdant forests, bountiful plains, and big humongous mountains. Nowhere else in the world are the serfs as content with their station and the rights and duties of nobles and monarch in such perfect harmony. Whatever your needs, Russia has the abundant natural resources to provide, and the great Tsar, Ivan "the Benevolent" IV, looks favourable on foreign Christian trade and expertise. Already the "Bear" label has reached such elusive markets as Astrakhan (1541), Kazan (1551), and Georgia (1557), and more markets will, undoubtedly, open in the future. Though occasionally embroiled in local spats under previous rulers, under the wise leadership of Tsar Ivan IV Russia has become a nation at peace with its neighbours with security enforced by a large and well-trained security force that caters to the needs of foreign Christian investors. The benevolent Tsar in his great wisdom put it best:

An investment in Russia is an investment in the future.

Poland singlehandedly beat the tar out of Austria, Venice, Bavaria and Spain...

Thus, when about 70k Austrians suddenly poured over the border I was forced to dow a coalition of five German minors just to get my army back to Poland to defend my lands....

At this time, Denmark joined the fray...

With a quarter as many men, Poland not only annihilated the entire Austrian-Bavarian-Venetian invasion army, but it then carried the war into Bohemia and Austria proper. Along the way, it killed about 25k more Venetians in Salzburg, killed Ferdinand and conquered Silesia, Erz and Moravia, chasing the remaining Austrian armies all the way to Tyrol!!

At this point, Archduke kept the game paused for almost 5 minutes since he was waiting for HolisticGod to come back from AFK to pimp him with ducats and beg for help...

At this stage, with all of Bohemia being sieged and in flames and with the Polish armies marshalling on the Danube, 55k Spanish come marching in from Milan under Marquis Valetta. Regardless, they were defeated in Moravia twice. The Polish armies then withdrew into Krakow and into Wielpolaska, only moving forward to periodically destroy about 150k total Spanish and Austrians as they tried to retake Bohemia. Valetta also met his death.

Ah Damocles! You are my hero, sincerely! You know that. :)

It is one person against the "whole" world. One, but a MAN! The basical hero concept. One cannot help being blinded by the performance of the Alexander of this game. [unfortunately I cannot find a smiley depicting "worshipping"]

Yes, I know you have some deficiencies in your character, a bad mouth now and then for example;) , but no one can write battle and war reports like you do!

Russia is seeking INVESTORS in the greatest development effort in history, not sugar daddies. If the King of Portugal does not know the difference, it is his loss. Interested parties should contact the Chosen Council via ICQ for details. Spammers will be balefired.

Wow England is the fifth richest power? When did that happen? Especially as I am richer then France!

The King, I mean Queen, of England is not concerned with the trifling matters of the East, except when it comes to trade. We are more concerned with Spain and the fact that they seemed a bit miffed when they couldn't marry Elizabeth...

That and the fact they are letting France in theire ToT

The King of France is just lending the Holy Father and his other servant the King of Spain a hand in bringing the savages of the New World to the blessed light of Jesus and our Lord.

We duly note the arrival of Spanish colonisers on our western border and are currently in discussion with the Spanish king regarding matters in the colonies.

The Queen of England worries so about her Catholic neighbours, but would like it to be known that Catholics are as well treated as Protestants in the realm.

Portugal tried to take those indeed really valuable provinces when he had the best leaders in it's history. It was fun, but Ottomans were better, even with Portugal having a few advantages, like starting earlier and being closer to recruitment area. If someone did something to occupy OE, perhaps the outcome would be different, but Portugal is happy with what is done up tp now.

About OE being next target...now, with old (i.e. about to die soon) Portuguese conquistadors and Ottomans having two provinces in the area, I don't think so... Besides, the whole thing sounds REALLY funny: OE boung the target of Portugal :D
