Are the monarchs of the world really so gullible as to believe the Dutch propaganda machine? ;)

Yes, poor Prussians. On the other hand, we all know what happens if you let Prussians to grow too strong, so your neighbouring countries were really just fighting for their bare survival;)

:(

what I meant was the things you always post.

I was under the impression hat you were going to post some more.

I am not sure I will make it. Leaving for a weekend today and than business trip on monday...
Perhaps I will post some tables, but only if I succeed in making the data more precyse (inflation, maercenaries, military maintenance have to be taken into account).

Anyway, already the MINIMAL costs are showing devastationg defeat of FRA+HOL+POL+SWE+DAN.

Austria-Italia got a lot of provinces, Prussia surely succeeded in pillaging everything worth in Holland while occupying and for some years even ruling parts of the country.
As for lost money, imagine what could have France and Poland do with 50.000 d. Much more than Austria-Italia and Prussia with 19.000 d.

This to spamming in my opinion.

War lasted 10 years so

Using this approach, both alliances had the same ration of military losses costs and income: 32%.
That's a very innovative way of calculating wealth, Barnius, using a temporary spike - that, for all we know, may only have been relevant for a few months - to give an overall image of a 10 year period.

Dear professor, I think you are confussing income with wealth, while

INCOME=WEALTH+MILITARY MAINTENANCE

Therefore INCOME>=WEALTH

Therefore the method is perfectly OK :)

Using a spike, whether as a low point or as a high point, to generate a meaningful long-term value is, in most cases, errant nonsense.

I am not saying it's perfect, but is IS another aproach, and since WEALTH numbers we can get from the file easily, while INCOME are not that easily reachable...

An interesting approach for sure, since it is one in which the numbers can be completely distorted by a single nation choosing to be at 50% maintenance for just one month during those 10 years.

But since it was a war, ALL were at 100% maintenance. And wealth figures are on a yearly bases, so one month of changed maintenance wouldn't change so much.

Nevertheless, ABSOLUTE numbers are important.

I find myself in complete agreement. A more accurate narrative of the incredible travails of the bold Prussians is hard to imagine, though you were too kind on the issue of the backstabbing Poles, really. It is not, after all, the first time they backstab Prussia - rather, it has become a tradition in its own right.

Despite the warning I read it. Nothing wrong with the text, but I really don't understand what those two pictures with "Oops..." text has to do with the AAR :D

Posted an Ottoman AAR too. True to my style it is dull reading with no pictures at all :)
