The thing i hate with Paradox games, is that you have to buy both the Mac version and PC version.![]()
What?
It's true. VPLTD makes the Mac ports of PI games. However, they are not published together and you have to decide which version you want to buy.
Personally, I find this to be an ancient and dying method of game distribution across platforms. With digital distribution on the rise, allowing people to buy a game, regardless of platform, is become more and more likely and far easier for developers and publishers to handle.
For instance, when I buy a game on Steam for both Windows and Mac OS X, I get both versions (of course, I cannot download the OS X version on Windows and the other way around).
This is not the case with PI releases, their Mac versions arrive far later than their Windows versions and are released through a different mechanic.
In essence, if you want both the Windows and Mac OS X version; you'll have to pay twice.
For the record, EU III on Steam lets you pay once and get Mac and PC versions. On the other hand, the Mac version of Heir to the Throne isn't on Steam yet.

I am well aware of VP's porting, considering that I've been a customer since 2004. I was wondering why someone would buy two identical "versions" of the same game.
Edit: Being able to register your game to Steam would be awesome, just like Football Manager 2010 where you have the decision to register it Steam or not.
You can, hit add a game -> activate a product on steam and type the CD/DVD number. Doesn't work for all games, but if it's on steam as well it has a chance to proc.
No, that isn't how it's done...
I'd ask you to have your head checked as mac and gaming go together as much as pc and Steve Jobbs. If you want to do gaming keep a PC around and use your mac for non-gaming or try installing windows on it and may work.Consider this scenario: You have a Windows machine, where you play Game A on. However, your machine gets old and you want a new one. In the mean time, you have become quite affected by the whole Apple branding, and thus decides to get a Mac, because you have heard that Game A is available on this platform.
