[MAC] Rolling horizontal line / enable vsync?

Hi everyone,

I recently finally got a new MacBook Pro and am now able to play Crusader Kings 2 - with a lot of enjoyment.

One thing’s been bugging me a bit though. In standard terrain view, when I scroll around the map, there is a horizontal “rolling” line. It almost looks like a tiny thin wave, rolling over itself.

Now, I think this might be due to the fact that - I presume - vsync is disabled in the game. Is there any way to enable vsync, or otherwise fix this problem?

I’m working on a MBP 2,6 / 512 / 16GB, Mavericks. Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks.

Any such options would be visible in the game or in settings.txt . AFAIK Macs don't provide that sort of facility; in PCs the video driver vendor gives access to those kinds of things.

I'd suspect it's due to a combination of two things in your case - your video card only has half the required video memory, and the video drivers in 10.9 need some work - we're all hoping that 10.9.1 improves things for those with under-spec video cards in the Macs.

Yes, unfortunately I couldn't find vsync in the settings.txt. Are you saying recommended video card memory is 4GB? Cause I have 2 GB. 4GB seems a bit much for recommended, no?

In any case, seems I have to hope for 10.9.1!

Sorry, I thought you were saying in your OP that you had 512mb of Vram - the game requires 1gb. Maybe you meant 512mb of CPU cache.
