'Europa Universalis för Linux, Mac och Amiga'

In English: 'EU for Linux, Mac & Amiga'

'Paradox Entertainment has licenced Canadian TribSoft Inc. the rights to convert the much talked-about historical CD-Rom game Europa Universalis to Linux, Mac & Amiga.'

Grrrreat! So I will be able to play EU at work as well. Even in multiplayer since we got an Internet connection so fat it's creppy.

Way to go Paradox!

You would (shortly) if your german is ok :)
No kidding, I cannot imagine there won't be an English version for Windows available eventually.
As for the other versions: That Canadian company will have to find a publisher first, just like Paradox, so that could be a long wait too. My guess is that the Windows version (which after all is completed already)is likely to be on the market before Linux etc.

I was hoping for something like that too... but I got this reply from Tribsoft when I asked about it:

'Hi,

We don't develop for Amiga. The announcement was an error.

Keep reading Amiga news site for the EU Amiga announcement.

Regards,

Tribsoft Inc.'

I didn't ask anything about the Linux and Mac versions, though.

Hallelujah! Now I might actually have something I can use Linux to play! I've got it installed on the machine, but little is written for it ...

I suppose they have to reach their own deal with publishers? So even if it's a Canadian company, that doesn't mean it will come out any sooner in North America.

According to a news item on the Czech Amiga News site (http://www.realdreams.cz/amiga/index.html) Tribsoft only aquired the rights for Linux. The Amiga and Mac versions are licenced by Hyperion Entertainment (http://www.hyperion-software.com/) according to them.
