[Mac] Flickering model issues + now crashing after patch

I just got CK2 yesterday from the Steam Sale, and when I tried to play it this morning, the towns and characters were rapidly flickering black. Hoping to fix this, I installed the Mac version of the newest patch (1.103). Now when I try to start up the game, it just briefly shows a white screen and then crashes.

I'd appreciate any help with either issue.

Specs, if they are needed:

MacBook Pro

Processor: 2.26 GHz
Memory: 4 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M

Hey PainfulAC,

Have you already tried to verify the integrity of the game cache? Also what Mac OS are you playing on?

• Open your Steam games library
• Right click on "Crusader Kings II" and select "properties"
• Click on the tab "Local Files"
• Now click on "Verify integrity of game cache"
• Wait until this process is finished, if any files are missing/corrupted it will notify you at the end of the process and automatically start with redownloading these files

I'm on 10.6.8.

Verifying fixed two files, and now the game starts up, but still has the flickering black models. (I also noticed the music skips a bit sometimes too)

The minimum specs for the game are

Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 6750 / NVIDIA GeForce 320 / NVIDIA GeForce 9600 or higher

which you fall short of, I'm afraid. The best you can do is update to OS X 10.8 as that has far better video drivers than 10.6 .

I suspect you'll find an OS upgrade will help or fix the flickering.
