Beelshameni, and possibly other religions that get the same festival, need an EVIL_GOD_NAME, or the festival event needs to be rewritten.

I would suggest Mawt , death personified, for all Semitic religions

By "all Semitic religions" you mean Canaanite, Arabic (but not Islamic, which would use Shaytan) and maybe Mesopotamian? (Not sure of Mesopotamian, as some cultures in Mesopotamia were Semitic, like Akkadians, and some weren't, like Sumerians.)

Speaking of evil deity names, we really should pay more attention to actually try to use evil beings, not rejected or feared concepts that aren't seen as embodiments. For example, raga and tamha in Buddhism are not beings or demiurges, they're seen as byproducts of the human condition and, while the goal is to avoid and shed these innate behaviors, they shouldn't seen in the same light as Satan or any other evil being who wields power and fear over the populace. The same goes for other examples throughout the religions, like "the flesh", "chaos", "ignorance", etc.

OK, I gave evil_god_names = GOD_MAWT to all Palymran Pagan group religions, for those lacking a scripture_name I assigned THE_LEGENDS, and for those lacking god_names I assigned GOD_BAAL. I also reactivated reforming for hadad and kothar, since they have holy sites assigned now.

Except that most of the time those evil beings are metaphors for the rejected and feared concepts (except bogeyman examples, like the Arabian Ghul)... one of the meanings of Angra Mainyu is "evil thought".... while Angra Mainyu is interpreted as a "being" (for a simple description of some sort) in the Avesta, it's quite literally a metaphor for everything Zoroastrianism stands against.

Besides, after coming up with 200 versions of the name of an evil being or very obscure/absurd examples of them (I don't even remember why I added the White Rider of Conquest as an "evil god" for Franciscanism), I just opted for removing the middle man and having some of those concepts as the evils themselves.

Anyway, the Evil God entries have very little impact in-game, unless you reference them on localisations like I did, they won't even show up anywhere.

Rich, am I to assume that you've taken over the holy site implementation?

Yes, can you clean up the duplicate baronies?

I changed the whole map of Finnic Holy Sites. See the new version in the revised original post. Sorry richvh :eek:o

Rationale: on second thought, I had been a) lazy in not using the new map's features, and b)overboard in my lore based approach.

a) Originally, the old map did not let us differenciate too much between the thre variants of Finnic religions, so they were all together. Now we can introduce a more refined spiritual geography.

b) Had you noticed, in the previous version, how much Finnic HSs were oriented eastward? There was a good reason for that. Finns are a "Finno-Ugrian" people who migrated from the East. Cultures and religions often keep memory of events happened long ago, see how Istanbul Sefarads still long for Iberia in their folk songs, not to mention Judaism. So in my view, the spirituality of the Finnic people keeps trace of its long-past migration from wherever they came originally, somewhere East, and a Finnic conqueror would have to make the legend come true and reunite the mythic motherland. I still believe in this approach, but I had gone too far, neglecting the fact that the religion had had time to develop locally as well. One HS in Perym is enough to bring this flavor.

Could you identify for me the barony tag for the Ostra Aros holy site? My searches aren't turning it up.
