I've decided to post an AAR of my current test game. This is not a play to win game, but I will still be trying to restore Arche Seleukeia and if possible put my Seleukidai on the their proper Imperial throne. (just not as hard as I would otherwise)
THE SETUP BEFORE THE MADNESS STARTS:
First off, the initial culprit: (He is labeled as no. I because I have not implemented the gazillion historical characters needed to have a proper number in the history files)
Notice his bloodline trait, with a short history of the bloodline attached. To the east of the small Seleukidai kingdom centered on Antiocheia, lies the Kingdom of Palmyra...a great potential ally or enemy, depending on how the tides of politics turn. One problem the Seleukidai face is their worship of Alexandros-Ammon in a sea of Infidels...let's hope we can restore the proper religious order to the region.
Notice the army composition -> The army of the Seleukidai still follows a Hellenistic model, if updated, and Antiocheia is home to a legendary military tradition... a place where an ultra-elite army can be trained.
A few hundreds of buildings up the building tree, the Seleukidai have the potential to build a powerful Hetairoi corps (comprised of both Cavalry Hetairoi and Asthetairoi Foot Companions) and enlarge it...many many things need to be in place first and a very strong economy needs to be built up to sustain an elite professional army, so that won't happen anytime soon.
The ace in the Seleukid sleeve is their elite corps of Argyraspides, ready to be raised for war in times of need. These troops will be very useful as the very steadfast center of our army.
It is now time to see wether the heirs of Seleukos can march East, humble all those who oppose them, and enter Seleukeia on the Tigris crowned with the laurels of victory, and thus reforge their ancient Empire!
