Lusty female rulers

Hi all, I was just wondering, I've played about 100 hours on CK II and have yet to have a female character. If a female character has the 'Lust' trait, will the bastard option fire?

In Vanilla I never had a bastard when I was a female, but I'm not sure.

You can have bastards as a lustful female ruler, but they are usually less common.

I played as one for 50 odd years. She had like 5 affairs. The bad thing is the male always decides the kid's dynasty. It's annoying when I'm trying to breed kids.

Ignoring the racism... There are plenty of dominant characteristics that can reveal who the father is/is not. If the married couple are both blonde, and the kid has black hair, it's not the husband's.

This. I've had bastards as a female ruler, and the only way to have the child be of your own dynasty is if your lover refuses to acknowledge it. You get no input, which seems silly if you're the one wearing the trousers.

I don't think that the game is that complex

There is a DNA system that makes traits skip generations, so yes, it is that complex.

I think it was reworked for 1.07 slightly, though, or was it only the values assigned and not the base code?

Black hair is a dominant trait. The only way to have blonde hair is in the construction of the hair itself, the core and the exterior have to both be light. Dark core and dark exterior means black hair, and you're not going to get that with both parents blonde.

Well well, I will be damned, I thought the DNA system here only inherited stuff strat from the parents and didn't have skipping. Nice to know.
