Civil war in 1.2 still ruins my game. I had more than enough men to crush the revolt and I got a loyal donation and more men every month and destroyed my economy. I went from 91 legions to 245. 148,000 men in Rome alone that would cost my 3k to disband.

yes, this more than anything, breaks a game for me. Sometimes it's just too much and I have to reload an earlier save ... grrrrr.... though without it, small civil wars could be a good way to get troops without spending money and get a stability point in the process. There should still be a way of saying "no.... I don't need your stinkin' troops"

How many troops did you have before the spawn? You need to run at 125% over the force limit and you will not get those stacks spawning. You must have been under your force limit or not at 125%

When I was playing over the weekend with vanilla 1.2 I had the option to not accept the loyal donation. But maybe I was significantly over the supply limit so I was allowed to make that kind of a choice.

Also, as I've pointed out several times before, your bankruptcy problem is really because you disbanded all those troops when you couldn't afford it. Don't disband them!!!

Instead send them off to fight a neighbour or the barbarians and get killed by enemy soldiers and attrition, that way you get rid of them without paying the exorbitant disbanding costs. Especially in 1.2, it's easier than ever to get unwanted troops killed with the changes they made.

Oh come on! Getting surplus young men, who might otherwise forment rebellion, killed off in pointless foreign wars, is a time-honoured tradition of statecraft!
