Anyone know why my custom ruler attributes are lower when I start a game, as opposed to what I assign them as in the ruler designer?

In ruler designer I have: 10 Diplo, 12 Martial, 15 Stewardship, 9 Intrigue, 15 Learning, 7 Prowess

When I start the game I have: 10 Diplo, 12 Martial, (12) Stewardship, (8) Intrigue, (12) Learning, and (8?) Prowess

I'm starting as a 10yr old for the extra points on iron man. Does starting as a child affect attributes??

(Also have Gregarious/Genius/Shrewd/Bossy/Adulterer/Fornicator/Deviant - don't judge me, I did it for the points lol)

What does it say when you hover on the skill?
I wouldn't be surprised if it's a culture or religion modifier.

Doesn't seem randomized at least. I just retested and it's the same number of points subtracted from those same 4 skills.

Also moving Stewardship from 15 to 16 points, and learning from 15 to 14 didn't affect how much was subtracted from them when finalizing the character.

It looks like the base value of the skills is scaled based on the age of the created character.
I just tried making a 0 year old with 100 base diplomacy, and he ended up with a base of 0 in all skills.

Adulterer (without being married) and fornicator at 10 years old. Well how can I say it.

Imo you are too shy in your optimization attempt. My advice would be ; do the job correctly. May be try to unpack your save and edit it, change your stats and traits. If game react, and disable success for that, try to cheat by attacking directly memory when the game is running. I know, tools like cheat engine, are able to do that, but I never tried at CK3.

For iron man, I advice you to regulary quite the game and copy past the save in an other directory. Like that you will be able to play iron man with the successs linked to it, AND have the possibility to load game by rapatriating your copy in the orignal directory.

I m sorry to be so few helpful, but at least at ck3 I have not that much experience in these tricky manuevers.

I definitely savescum. I'm not trying to impress anybody, so why not.

Mcgan, yeah seems so. But it doesn't seem to affect two of the skills as much as the others. Just weird, I wish there was documentation somewhere, so I could at least plan correctly. Restarting a game from scratch several times just to start off the way you want to.. sucks.

Iron man activated, but game asked my an adult character to valid with iron man + success.

I made what I had to do, then quite game and reload it to see ck3 reaction.

Result ; no check sum problems, success are available with my new ... I dont know if I can call that a character. it is just a 3 minutes experience, I didnt tried anything.

Edit ; picture 2 the same ... thing ... working on it 3 more minutes. check sum control still ok.

Bumping this, anyone else know why this happens?
You can edit the save file like Kurt Pat said, but you can also go into game\common\defines\00_defines.txt* On line 201 there's SKILL_SCALE_AGE and if you set it to 0, the skills won't scale anymore.

EDIT: Originally I wrote game\common\script_values\00_defines.txt. I had another window open and made the mistake of trying to read while typing.
