Hello , has anyone researched a low feasibility technology ?

i waited for one at 23% for like 20 turns after it said it may never be researched and i cancelled it. I wanna know if it is possible to research them if u wait for a longer period ?

I went as crazy as I could and allow 912% overbudget but no dice. Safe to say that if it doesn't net you a result after 500% it's a waste of time. I believe the game uses some sort of exponential system determining your chance which allows >50% techs to get a bigger chance to succeed but the lower it goes it exceedingly becomes nigh impossible.

6% Feasability = Never managed anything with it before game crashed about 23-24 turns later....the research wheel stayed hashed. 17% Feasability managed to get it to work with about 22 turns later for the actual research (I think it was the Bio one with the body chemistry adaptation or whatever it was called). I usually wait to try my feasabilities until after I have a sci station with that research tree tech module on it just in case it may help with the feasability %....dont know if it works that way or not. So far any feasability I have seen above 66% have always worked out. Hope that helps

LOL Some opinions differ

Best "low" feasbility I've achieved was 32%, though that one was a gamble. I've had 49% ones fail. I typically don't go for one unless the chance is 51% or so. So far I've been very lukcy with those (all have succeeded ie 51% or better). Btw, never had any crash after 20ish turns. I've had dozens of games in the 100-200 turns and since hotfix just a day or so ago now, I've had a near 400 turn game and a 52 turn game.

So opinions differ. :) What Tairneanach said is best advice though. ;)

cheers for the replies guys. i also read somewhere that different races have different chances over technologies , but it doesn't seem that is working. i am always playing sol so far and i can tell you that i always get different feasibilities on the same techs....eg. one time i get all the bio techs to max , one time i cannot move over the first 3-4 , so it makes no sense to me.

Actually yes different races have better chances at tech AND also have a randomness factor regardless of race on top of that. ;) All races also have a set "always will get this tech" that may or may not match other races. ;)

hmm according to the wiki the humans have very hight chances on all bio technologies bar the last 4 , so the random factor must be really big as i get 1% feasibility on a tech that says it has 80% for humans.
