I have finally had a chance to sit down and play CIM2 properly, and I've really gotten into it at last! I played around 90 hours of CIM1 so consider myself quite a fan. I love the increase in flexibility, timetabling and the ability to remodel roads. I do have a few bugbears though, it would be nice to see some improvements to the below. Apologies if it looks like a big list of whinging, I do love the game but think these things just prevent it from being perfect!

  • Why doesn't the screen scroll when you move your cursor to the edge? Most irritating!
  • Will there be more campaigns released, themed on real cities? I loved that from CIM1, being a Londoner that DLC made my day!
  • Does anyone else find laying metro track a real nightmare? It often won't let you build for no obvious reason and I can't seem to understand the logic behind how it decides what height to try and build at!
  • The tutorial is WOEFULLY inadequate. It took me a long time to complete, mainly due to the difficulty of laying metro track without being given any instructions! It also doesn't cover trolley or water buses. Water buses in particular would benefit from a tutorial, it is only down to helpful people online that I found out they need waypoints! The more advanced road/track building would benefit from a tutorial too.

Since there is map editor, a lot of people are making their own maps, mostly bases on real cities. Campaign are also available to create, but I am not sure if someone already makes one.

Since there is a thread already I will drop my list here.

Need
- Indication on automatic bulldozing
- Autosave
- Planning of projects. So first laying out a road, so you know it can be build completely, and finalise in one go. So much more user-friendly than building everything (1)piece-by-piece, (2)realise you cannot make the last piece, (3a)bulldoze everything, (3b)leave empty places where buildings were scrapped for the road and then (4)try from scratch. Under the motto 'it shouldn't be harder (more inconvenient) than in real life', please make a planning function...

Should have
- No automatic line activation. Currently you already get frustrated customers while your line is not even finished... Why does it start automatically and not when you finish building?
- Bus stop out of lane. So not a complete bus lane of 400 meter, just an indent in the sidewalk (like they have in... well... everywhere!)
- Customizable intersections (give way and such). You can build your own roads, but you cannot change the traffic lights?
- Traffic lights with sensors (how is this not implemented, especially regarding the traffic problems of CiM1?). So the bus does not have to stop for traffic lights when it is the only vehicle on the planet.
- Upgrading of roads instead of deleting and building a new one.

Could have
- More zones (especially for very large custom maps).

Want
- OpenTTD city growth, city itself builds its roads. I just want to plop 6 villages in the editor and watch them grow when I make lines. It's not a city builder and it has dynamic growth, so this would be a logical thing to have.

I do not necessarily want to be necessarily picky; But in more than 20 years of citybuilding games, how are (some of) these things not yet standard in the genre and implemented in a sequel?
