Loud laptop

Hej

Don't know if this is the right forum, but...

I love Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis IV and the music adds the right feeling and gets you in the right mood but, the fan in my laptop are spinning like hell and drowns the music and kills my concentration and the fun. I have an ASUS N550J and an old Vaio. Any suggestions in order to make my laptop a bit less noisy would be appreciated.

That means it is getting hot, most likely. That can be 'normal', or vents are blocked by dust, or a fan has failed and the other need to work harder, or other things.

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 20 minutes' play. If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install

Now I've checked (vents are not blocked) and the temperatures are up to 85 degrees Celsius, so maybe I'm just too sensitive to noise :sad:

85c is too hot. You have a hardware problem, maybe a dead fan or a heatsink or thermal paste issue - I'd seek professional help .
