Are there any Lord of the Rings mods? This game is perfect for that with the quests and such.
This game?
Erm, eu3 will be better.
Most of LotR world isn't hereditary.
Because most world isn't hereditary. : D
Only human kingdoms, what about elves, hobbits etc.?
That would make for a quite boring game as the only way to expand would be war. No diplomacy with other races seems quite restrictive I guess this is why it has not been made. The best time for it to be set in would be after Feanor's curse. The marriage could be fixed because of the MUST NOT MARRY AN INFIDEL malus.
In CK2 it is more about who you marry and dynasties it does not fir well with the scattered remnants of once glorious civilizations + inter species relations would be almost unheard of (except for the Dúnedain) and only hostile takeovers would then be possible leaving out a lot of the diplomacy and plotting that makes this game so great. I agree that a set up with the EU engine sounds like a better idea.

I would like to point out, before anyone gets too hard-up on the idea of a LoTR mod, publicizing any aspect of it will likely lead to a cease and desist from WB. It just happened today on a Middle Earth mod that was being built for 8 years for Oblivion. Even though nobody got money, WB shut them down.
Not if we call it a Silmarillion mod! Right...RIGHT?
That will not work you can't open a burger joint and call it Mac Danalds either it is infringement of copyrights. I am actually amazed the GoT mod does not get a seize and desist order but the company that owns the rights to LoIaF must be somewhat lenient as the mod is no secret and is even used for advertising the vanilla game on Steam and I am sure a lot of other sites. (prob not by paradox themselves as they could burn their fingers)Rename it "Lordy Ringz" and replace every last letter of a characters name with a z. Frodz, Pippiz, Gandalz. This will preserve realism and foster a sense of immersion.
