Playing as the Count of Brabant. I get uppity, get smacked down by dogs bigger than myself. As a result, my vassals (the baron, mayor, and bishop) in my county are direct vassals of the HRE, not me!

How do I get them back?!?!

Your safest bet militarily is to use your De Jure claim on them to start a war with the HRE for each one in turn . . . . which is not really safe but as good as you probably can do in that situation. I would wait for the HRE to get into a large conflict or erupt in civil war before you do that, though. For the Barony, if the HRE's Crown Authority is not too high, you can watch them like a hawk or engage in a series of assassinations and arrange a regular marriage while the office is held by a Baroness to one of your heirs.

If you are also directly under the HRE, then you can simply de jure claim them provided it's not medium CA. If not, yeah you're kinda screwed.
