I hope in EU III they would not have such ahistorical blunders. Neither Morea nor Trebizond had enough hinterland under their control to create armies. Trebizond in her later times did not have any resources to subjugate the puny Turkish tribes capturing her own cities, let aside conquering the next province. They were basicly a city garrison, unable to defend themselves, always seeking for stronger allies, and offer their princesses to various Turkish Beys for mercy (like Byzantium did and failed before).
