Hi,
I don´t know what just happened, but I am going to reload an old save. The Umayyad started conquering Aquitania early in the game, The Pope called us for the Crusade, and I was playing as Count of Asturias de Santillana. I had nearly 500 faith so I hired all the holy orders. Two of them dissappeared, but I saw them coming slowly, walking all the way from the Papacy under the control of someone else.
But that was not a big problem after all...
I managed to defeat the Muslims with a good score thanks to the holy orders, and I was granted all territories of Aquitania. I crowned myself as a Great Duke, still under the orders of the young king of Asturias, who decided to declare war again to the Umayyad for Navarra. Even though my income was 1 ducat until the next year... And my levies were, hmm, my cousin and his 5 friends.
Things were looking too bad for my silly king, and I was planning to take the power creating a faction. His army got crushed by the Muslims, and after some time he hired 2100 of my men after the 1 year penaly was gone. They were crushed too. But suddenly, he decided to create the Kingdom of Aquitania. He had 2 titles, lost the war, and I was thinking to take his primary title of Asturias, and then usurp Aquitania.
I created a faction with 3800% strength and he resigned his primary title. And this happened:
What did I do wrong? I think it is a bug. He got all my territories and vassals. In exchange, he lost his vassals, Asturias de Oviedo and Leon, but kept Burgos for some reason. I guess that if I had claimed Aquitania instead, I would have become independent without losing my vassals, except maybe Asturias de Santillana and Vizcaya (which I won by war against an ally). But thats not what I want anyway. I want to be his king.
Should I have just done that before he created the kingdom of Aquitania? I didn't check the strength of the faction until the war finished. Would that have stopped the war for Navarra?
Thanks,
Crispi
