Loss of prestige through negotiations?

As I said, I managed to get all of Lombardia, plus another province, all without trouble.

The main concern however, is the loss of prestige, and how to prevent that.

The deals I made were lopsided somewhat; 2 techs for the 1 province, with perhaps a few £1000's thrown in, or usually just the 2 techs for the 1 province.

One thing to try is three techs and some money for two provinces, might work, and the prestige hit is halfed to -5 per province.
