My king got Emperor trait, but then lost it in a few years. "You secular power has dwindled..." or something. What's strange is that his power has grown if anything. He's got additional crown (eight in total), his demesne is larger, his prestige, piety all have grown. No heresy, duress or excommunication. I've found the event, but conditions should not have been met - it's less then 5 crowns and 10 dukes. Is there something I've missed?

Hmm... maybe I got punished for not having Germany and Burgundy? I have only Italy and original event fired for quantity and not quality :)

I can't remember all the various conditions, but I know you are not punished for not having Germany and burgundy. It is either Germany/Burgundy/Italy or any 5 other king titles.

Maybe you gained to Modest trait?? .. or lost stability

Well, stability gone from 3 to 2 because of greedy Church :) Still should be enough. But I have to see if he become modest - don't have the game right now. He's got a lot of traits so it's easy to miss. And I'll look for event again then. Should have done that before posting :eek:o

Edit: Waait a minute. I returned to older save and triggered event from console. It gives the chance as 1 in 12456.29 days i.e. possible. But how?

Ok, I'm not 100% sure of how to read CK events, but it looks to me that the line
condition = { type = not value = { type = num_king_titles value = 5 } }
is saying that you have to have exactly 5 king titles to keep this condition from being met, so if you had 6 king titles, the condition would be met, and the event could trigger.

Or I might just be reading it wrong...

Event scripting in paradox games is somewhat arcane :)

But, I think "=" is actually ">=" otherwise granting of the title should not have triggered at the first place. I've already had 7 king titles then. And 8 at second time.

Still the game definitely reading this events differently from what I think :)
