Right now playing a game of Halxi -> Manchu -> Qing. I've been having fun and still am but I noticed that after forming Manchu I lost the +25% shock on desert / plain.

Now if I had shifted to Asian tech at this point I would be fine.

If I had kept bonuses and stayed nomad tech I would be fine.

To have neither is not catastrophic but it is a problem. I don't think there was active intent to nerf the player when they form Manchu in response to moving to a monarchy. Every other occasion in the game the shift occurs at once. But I imagine the planes bonus to be representative the strength of cavalry based armies on flat land. Not of combinations of tribe/monarchy.

thanks for any response.

P.S any opinions on what should happen ?

Yea I noticed this too, also you loose your awesome CB and double looting, which is more understandable because it is tied to the tribal government but its a pretty huge nerf when you dont really get anything at all out of it until you form Qing aswell.

Yeah, manchu sucks right now. I found out the hard way after forming it with yeren. I was piss poor, with a worse fl, and I just rq.

An easy way around having no horde cb is to just vassal one.

Ye the whole process of Jurchen>Manchu>Qing is screwed at the minute. The first transition loses you all the horde bonuses without getting any Chinese tech benefits and the second transition loses you about 10 Manchu cores that you gained by taking the first transition. Then there is the problem that when you get all your claims as Qing they expire before you can really do much about taking them.

This was probably one of the least satisfying games I played and dropped it once I got the achievement.
