Losing battles no matter what.

You sure you are playing HoI4 it kinda sounds like EU4 ? (tip: move this topic to the correct forum)

But from what i read it seems you have very low morale compared to the frenchies wich can be from a variety of things, but check and compare:
Military tech
Advisors

If its not that its prolly some problem with the CK2 conversion or some other mod.

Also remember that france is one of those nations with starting bonuses and have some really good starting ideas wich boosts their armies some.

2) If you read, nobody has Idea's yet.

3) If you read again, I said I'm the second most powerful, France has lower Military Tech by 2.


Obviously its an issue with Morale. That's painfully obvious seeing as how my morale is destroyed in a matter of .02 seconds, but why? I have 2 more tech, more soldiers, better commanders, on terrain that benefits me, literally doing everything I'm told to do to push things in my favor.

If morale is this stupidly overpowered, or under powered, or swings battles this massively, there is a monstrous imbalance issue going on.

this is not in EUIV forum this is HOI4 forum, he was suggesting you go over there/ As to the problem you facing if you already have 2 tech advantage on them then im sure the computer can have some ideas, like offensive or aristocratic, also what kind of rolls were you rolling RNG might have been bad for you. theres a ton of variables to take into account

you might be right, morale isn't just morale, but does morale damage to the enemy, if the ai is sporting an advisor that give a boost to morale that could be nasty, but during a battle your be able to clearly see if they have more morale.

tbh i use to think alot like you, EU4 was frustrating the hell out of me, thought it was cheating, and based on pure random luck, but has mentioned by others there are alot of variables to take into consideration, also army composition is extremely vital, personally i think you 5 cav were a bit to much, i usually get by with 1-3 cav per 15k stack, then later add 10 artillery. But your right, sometimes i watch those dice rolls, and its murderous, but i have noticed terrian, and the smallest of multipliers can make the difference, not to mention things like low prestige, war exhaustion all have a negative effect on your fighting troops, and don't forget the battle phases during a battle, certain buffs to the enemys shock phases can be punishing, not sure if thats when morale offence/defence it is at it's best.
