So let me get this straight...... the Yuhts are a Precursor Empire.... that never developed FTL!?!?!?!? You mean the thing that we develop at the beginning of the game? They were colonizing space for thousands of years (I am assuming that they only colonized like 2 or 3 star systems?) and as soon as they meet another Alien race they instantly get REKT. How exactly are the Yuhts even at a level where they can be called a Precursor Empire? How were they even referred to as an Empire? The only way that I can see this working is if, the Yuhts were actually the very first Sentient species in the Galaxy, and when they found the next species that wiped them out, that was the very first contact between two Alien races to ever take place. Now that at least would be worthy of its own storyline. Is that what happened?

Millions of years actually.

Also, they might not have been the first sentient space-faring species. One of the anomalies you can get is finding a museum of theirs that had an exhibit of relics that were thought to be evidence of intelligent life, but weren't, and you find out that, despite what the Yuhts thought, one of them actually was something from an alien race that predated the Yuhts.

So why cant we clone precursors? I want to see the reaction of a species that died off long ago being revived in the contemporary galaxy.

Just because you clone them does not mean you get one of the precursors back. Their culture is lost. All you get is a clone that lives in your time, knowing only your time, and seeing the precursors (his own genetic species) as a distant unknown past like you do.

And the Vultaum are older than Yuht to begin with. 12 million years for our suicidal worms vs 6 million for our jerkass gigantic arthropods.
