Whats a snub PPC gunna do?
PPC Shotguns. And since they weigh a ton less than a PPC, I’ll even be able to add another 2 Heatsinks. : )

So I just read the nutz n bolts article, shotgun PPC, so that means it has several projectiles that it can spread all over the enemy mech kinda like the missiles? That means its damage is divided across its several projectiles?
So it has the potential to sand blast the enemy, instead of just punch it in the nose.....hmmmm my guys do enough sandblasting without their weapons doing it for them lol....

Fair enough. I’ll take the potential for increased Damage, increased Instability and increased Heat Dissipation and be about my business of destroying Mechs.

Too bad we can’t turn to BATTLETECH Multiplayer to help settle some of these discussions. But then again maybe one of our Modders will being HEAVY METAL’s Weapons to Skirmish Mode at some point. : )

Will it do more damage than the PPC if all projectiles hit one spot? Or is it the same 50 dmg/3 projectiles(just as an example)?

Let’s see, IIRC it is 5 mini-PPC Blasts of 15 Damage and 5 Instability. The Snub PPC weighs 6 tons, occupies 2 Critical Spaces, has a range of 350 max and builds 35 Heat.

All in all a very interesting package that I am very intent on putting to good use. : )

Hmm, so its like a super energy SRM. I might find a place for it on some of my mechs. Like the ones where I wish I had more missiles slots...

and potential for 75 dmg, never mind 20% more on a Warhammer.....ooof, yeah, that could hurt like a mofo.

Yes indeed. : )

It’s the Warhammer’s Optimized Capacitors and their bonus of 20% Damage that has me very interested in pairing it with Snub PPCs. I’ll need to find two Warhammers in my upcoming HEAVY METAL Career, one for COIL-Larges and the other for Snub PPCs!

I’m thinking about a Rifleman with 2 snub PPC and 2 LB-2X. Shotgun madness!

It probably won’t be good, but it’ll be amusing!

Don't forget lostech is getting a buff across the board, 2 ER Large Lasers, & 2 LB-X2s could be some good fun, and the extreme range those weapons have will probably help it from getting shot in return.

Ill be modding in a Warhammer as my starting mech. Ill see what happens from there. See what other mechs I find in the world.

And a targeting debuff per sppc bolt strike apparently.

That seems potentially more practical than my quad shotty plan. Probably less amusing, too. :)
