Looking for some help with Reaper's Due

Okay, let's see if I can talk my way through this...

I installed it last week and went to play it last night...

First of all, in Steam CKII is listed as "Crusader Kings II [Beta]" But then I go to click on properties for the game and, under beta, it makes no mention of my using any beta version.

So I open the game and it starts and an agreement popped up which I agreed to and I see a screen that has "continue as last save option" and "play" and "quit." There is also a section that has all of the mods that I have installed and I have the ability to check which that I use. I check none. There is a tab for "DLC" but I cannot click on it for some reason...

So I click "Play" and it takes me to the start screen. And on the bottom it tells me that new content is available for purchase...Reaper's Due. But on the properties it is listed as "installed" and in the store it is listed as "you already have." The strange thing is that the earliest start appears to be Horse Lords bookmark so I can't go previous to that...

So I tried going back to my "continue as last save" and it works for a minute and then tells me that it cannot due that because X reasons (basically I was playing it on Conclave and that's unavailable now).

The whole time I'm trying these things...the loading screen includes art from the Reaper's Due.

So...did I screw up something on the agreement somehow? I was half paying attention as I was finishing up another project...and I can't get it to come back to read more thoroughly.

Did anyone else have this issue and what would ya'll suggest I try?

I would take the obligatory step of verifying the game cache. It's under the properties of the game in Steam, under the Local Files tab called "Verify Integrity of Game Cache."

This will scan your files and download / fix any of the missing or corrupted ones.

Was your Reaper's Due download interrupted by anything?

Thanks so much for the suggestion; I'll try this when I get home from work...

I don't think it was interrupted but I did try to "purchase and install" from my work computer so that it would be there when I got home...I think I have done that before and it worked okay but it's possible that something came up this time. Let's say that it was interrupted...that scan that you're suggesting would fix it?

What you said about it saying "beta version" in the Library might also be a big clue. On the launcher or main menu check what patch you're on- if it's not 2.6.1 that's your problem right there. I do find it curious though that you said in Properties that no beta was listed.

Worst comes to worst and verifying your cache didn't solve the issue, reinstalling is the other common cure-all.

I tried the first suggestion from above to verify files and that didn't work. So I right clicked and clicked "delete local content." Is that how you do an uninstall? I then clicked "install" in Steam and installed everything...I still have the same problem...

The version I have is 2.6.1.1 then the letters SKBW appear. That's the top right of the first start screen.

One last note. I can even confirm that there is a check mark next to ALL of the content packs that I have including the Reapers Due on the front page of my CKII Steam page. So it's there...

Checksum (the SKBW) matches up correctly, so there shouldn't really be anything wrong with your install. Try unticking and reticking Reaper's Due in the Library, then restart Steam. That ought to force it to install.

So strange. I appreciate your efforts...but that didn't work either. I checked the box and it showed as "not installed" and then checked it to show it installed.

When I go to Start a new game...on the bookmarks for the first two it tells me that I need The Old Gods and Charlemagne, both of which I have.

The odd thing is that the Reaper's Due load screen comes up in the process of starting the game...so frustrating...

I had the same issue, you might find in downloads that it is scheduled for download but not happening.

Push it through and it should start and finish ASAP and your good to go.

How does one "push it through?"

The Reaper's Due and the Reaper's Due Content Pack both have a check in their box and show that they are "installed" with a date installed next to them.

Wanted to take a minute to thank ya'll that replied and tried to help in this thread. I have it up and running now and I'm excited to delve into the new content finally.

Here's what I did that finally worked. Uninstalled everything...restarted the computer, re-installed...restarted the computer...and boom. We're in!
