I like changing all nations to monarchist and letting them have a WW1 rematch

Personally decide the course of each nation based on what you determine gives it the greatest likelihood of surviving.
For me, that is making Poland Fascist, Japan Unaligned, USA Neutral, Britain Monarchist, and France Communist, etc.

Don't underestimate the potential of AI fascist France. Last time I played Turkey, I joined the allieq and fascist France was accidentally pulled in the allied side aswell. It not only held the Belgian border, but also single-handedly capitulated Italy while I was busy recapturing africa where the british got their ass handed over to them. In fact, after the axis capitualtion, France straight up annexed three quarters of Germany. It would also eventually annex Poland, Yugoslavia, Romania and Hungary and when I turned my back on the allies to reform Turan, France had basically become Europe - and was the only real threat to my wish of capitulating the Allies easily. I was genuinly surprised, I had never seen the french AI do so well unassisted.

My current setup for most games:

Germany - Fascist
Japan - Nonaligned
Hungary - Fascist
UK - Fascist
Italy - Fascist
France - Democratic or Communist
USA - I don't think it matters, the country paths don't work?
Soviet Union - Depends

This should lead to the following factions:
Axis: Germany, Japan, Hungary
Allies: UK, Italy
Comintern - Soviets
Random faction: France, USA, minors and medium powers

Axis, Allies and Comintern will usually end up in a 3 war by 1942. Axis, Allies will usually end up at war with the USA too. Where Poland, Baltics, Scandis end up is anyone's guess. Chinese nations could fracture and join invidiual factions, or they could form a United Front.

I don't know for the communist path

My plan for next game is to set all majors for civil wars as much as I can and possibly flip their ideologies to opposite to one in RL, so:
USA -> communist
UK-> comunist or fascist I'm least interested in civil war there so perhaps they will remain Democratic
Germany -> Democratic or perchaps Communist
France - > Communist or Fascist
Italy -> democratic or communist
Soviet -> Monarchist (I will play it but still plan to go through civil war)
Japan -> Democratic or Communist
China - > They already have civil war



In case first 2-5 i wil try use console cheats to ensure win of prefered faction (by giving equipment and some XP , PP but not outright anexation ) but I will try allow civil war to resolve 'naturally' as much as posssible
