What is the longest assassination plots you have had with the plot power being continuously above 100%

I'm currently running on ten years without a single attempt with the plot power being 300% for 3 years, then down to 145% for another 7 years and now at about 250% for about three years. I swear it won't even attempt to kill this guy until after he has one child just to spite me.

Thats unlucky... My plots always end successfully within a year if I can get plot power to around 80-90%

I did have one hilarious event chain to kill the King of France of whom I was the regent and Duke of Berry, ending in him pushing his regent off a balcony.

I believe that, to the assassination events to fire, your plotters need to be in the same location as your target. So, if you are trying to kill a Duke, you can invite people from his court to murder him, but sometimes this Duke could be employed by his King and be in another location, for example, fabricating claims, this means that your plotters are not in the same location of your target, which could affect your murder efficiency.

Yep, it also works the other way too. I once had a baron whos lands I wanted. No one in the court was willing to help me kill him though. So I invited one of my Dukes to the plot. Then I made the baron my counciller and told him to improve relations in that Duchy. He was dead in the month.

You don't even know, brother.
I'm at 10 years with >500% plot power the entire time, and 17 participants, ALL of whom are in my court
The events have fired 4 times, and failed every time
I still manage to have children with my wife, despite the -200 "Dishonorable" modifier she holds against me

And hey, I wonder, her father used to be Duke of Thessalonica. Would he be mad that I tried to kill his daughter, and try to revolt, if the plot was revealed?
If not, it seems incredibly unrealistic

I would be cool if failed and revealed assassination of your wife and/or children would result in them fleeing for their life for an other court! (maybe a relative they like the most)

This explains a lot.

My previous ruler (King of Scotland & Ireland) was married to the eldest daughter of the King of Norway (which has Agnatic-Cognatic Primogeniture). King of Norway has one son also with a son. I get the brat out of the way first easily by recruiting Norway's Spymaster which gives about 300% plot power & he gets a maid to smother him with a pillow. Unfortunately the Prince has 30+ opinion to most of the possible plotters so getting people to join the plot is hard enough but I eventually manage to get over 100%. 3-4 years pass without a single attempt on his life even though half his fathers court is in this plot. Every time I checked him out he was leading troops somewhere as when they're not busy suppressing revolts (and sometimes even when they are), Norway & Sweden are at war over de-jure claims constantly. Then his dad dies & he inherits the title & promptly has another son which makes the whole thing a moot point.

If it worked I would've ended up with the Kingdoms of Scotland, Ireland, Denmark, Lithuania & Norway as my heir at that time was married to the Queen of Denmark in a regular marriage who also controls the counties & duchies of Lithuania. Current ruler just inherited Kingdom of Denmark from the Queen after she eventually died (of old age, I'm not evil enough to murder my own mother) and I had to save & quit since it was 3am again =(
