All life with EU II

I decided time ago to start a long term map project for EU II games with different criteria for provs there:
- world coverage without PTI;
- avoiding city names as prov names there;
- proportion with average size of continents;
- avoiding similar names as prov names;
- names in local historical language as more as possible;
- avoiding clickability issues with a minimum size;
- rivers as borders as more as possible;
- islands and lakes will be provs only if of considerable size.

For a brief summary:
Africa has 235 provs (accomplished)
Oceania has 71 provs (accomplished)
North America has 174 provs (accomplished)
South America has 155 provs (accomplished)

Arctic Ocean has 9 provs (accomplished)
Indian Ocean has 54 provs (accomplished)
Pacific Ocean has 79 provs (accomplished)
Atlantic Ocean has 108 provs (accomplished)
Lakes are 54 provs (accomplished)

a few problems:

hard to accomplish in Europe... either you get bloated Europe, or you don't get enough provinces in it...

same here, when it comes to Europe...

Did you make that yourself or are you taking ideas from other maps? I have a feeling this thread is going to get clogged in posts because it's a map project and as you know we all like new maps!

Minor islands

Lakhadives (India) 32 kmq
Bermudas (North America) 59 kmq
Channel Isles (France) 200 kmq
Elba (Italy) 226 kmq drawn only
Maldives (East Africa) 300 kmq
Malta (Italy) 316 kmq drawn only
Wight (Britannia) 380 kmq drawn only
St. Helens (West Africa) 410 kmq
Seychelles (East Africa) 455 kmq
Man (Britannia) 572 kmq drawn only
Bahrein (Middle East) 662 kmq drawn only
Anglesey (Britannia) 676 kmq drawn only
Madeira (Iberia) 900 kmq drawn only

Well, I'll go on this project editing single areas.
ITALY

Not good at all... :wacko:

You have Croatia reaching far into Slovenia/Carniola, Krain (aka Carniola) reaches into Croatia, Herzegovina is put under Rashka, instead of under (truncated) Bosnia, Istria goes all the way up into Austrian lands...

You aren't used to see it how I made:
Krajn belongs to Austria in my scenario,
northern part of Istria is named Venezia Giulia and has italian people, the border is Isonzo river there.
Hercegovina is small to be a prov and doesn't belong to Bosnia prov, Rashka took Hum prov too.

It's still wrong, with this map you have Austria in Croatia before its time and Croatia in Austria (never) :rolleyes:

That way you have Venice in Austria :wacko:

Herzegovina always gravitated WEST towards Bosnia and Croatia, never EAST :wacko:

In my ElioGC no Bosnia (to Serbia) and no Croatia (to Hungary) nations.
Friuli is Italy, even if was occupied for some years by Austria; the Alpes are the border there.

Whatever...

Even without those nations (BTW, that setup will net you a flame war at least), you've got wrong nations in wrong places at the wrong time...

IMHO, something that is even LESS historically correct than VanillaEUII is not worth playing...

@Kelvin:
I'm creatig a map to have fun playing my ElioGC scenario in MP/SP games.
Historical map/scenario is AGCEEP with Agung's MyMap: play it.

@Walter Model:
Not interested in world as it's now. I follow (not strictly) historical provinces.
You can post a map or a link here, I can modify any province in a day.

Italian Lazio (from latin Latium) is shorter than Patrimonium Petri.
