This map shows the original partition of Hungary between Habsburgs, Ottomans, and Transylvania. As you see it fits nearly perfect.

This one shows the time when Transylvania (Erdély) became more influent and powerful.(the green prov with 3 blues around it was mostly contested for)

A stronger OE has the upperhand after that.

And there was the time of 'Upper Hungary', where France, OE, and a bit also Poland helped rebels to become free, and a 'diplomatic shemer mastermind'
gained the title King of it (red)

All the contested provs between nations.

And at last one: the nearly 'liberated' Hungary by Habsburgs

That was it, next are province names

this shall be used for it :

1. Fiume (this is easy: Fiume)

2. Croatia (Zágráb, or the croatian version for it)

3. I don't know, you can name it (Bihács)

4. Varasd (Varasd)

5. Vas (now thats hard, 3 possible cities here, roll a dice or whatever to decide witch one it shall be: Sopron, Győr, Szombathely<this is the 'capitol' of Vas originaly>)

6. Komárom (Komárom, it was seperated after WW1 but most part of it stayed hungarian so not slovakian name for it)

7. Pozsony (Pozsony)

8. can be Slovakia or Upper C(K?)arpaths (Zólyom)

9. best would be Zemplén, if not than Ung (Kassa mostly, or Ungvár)

10. Slavonia (Pozsega, or croatian<?> name of it)

11. Somogy (Kaposvár or Pécs)

12. Buda (Buda)

13. Pest (Pest)

14. Heves (Eger)

15. Hajdú (Debrecen)

16. Máramaros (Huszt)

17. Kunság (Szolnok)

18. Alföld (Gyula)

19. Székelyföld (Kolozsvár)

20. Banát (Temesvár)

21. Szászföld (Gyulafehérvár or Déva or Brassó)

Pozsony was/is the name of the city in hungarian, also that of the country itself, and this was in Hungary

... and most of the country's population was slovak with large hungarian minority, while most of city population was german.

so culture of the province wa firstly slovak, secondly hungarian with major cultural influence of Germans in the city. So major "culture is slovak, most influental is german, but you propose to use name of the least influental culture in the forovince.

This way hungarian name is absolutely the worst possibility

I assume that Pressburg lies in territory of crown of St.Stephens. But making it hungarian speking province is like making Breslau in Silesia speking Czech because ot was under crown of Bohemia while the major language was 1. German, 2. Polish and 3. Czech

yes, Pozsony city was mostly slovakian, but as I said there was also the country that was Pozsony

so I can agree easy to have slovak culture in Pozsony
(BTW: it was not really a minority in hungarian, just check some cultural maps, most of them does not even mention german. Germans were economical needed, but to suggest german as culture would also need to change lot of other provs to jew becouse they boosted eco)

again. The city name should be German, here is no doubt about it.

why to rename province where population is the same as ruling nation? Pest or Buda should stay Hungarian as the culture, population and owner were all Hungarian.

I still don't see any reason why a provionce where there were almost no Hungarians at all should be called in Hungarian.

Does it mean that Greek provinces should be called in Turkish because they were owned by Ottomans for 400 years? does it mean that some French provinces should be called in English because they were part of England with almost no English population there?

I try to help with carpathia (mostly hungary in this timeframe), as I'm making events and research for it in AGCEEP.

I know this is something else but see what I offer and ask:
possibility to give good names for provs here, and that gamepossibility to seperate hungary with the historical borders
(don't look at Upper Hungary, that becomes free from Erdély and Habsburgs part of hungary later, I just posted them too that you see that there needs to be borders for a new 'kingdom' later)

I already draw some borders that are more accurate, combined some provinces, or seperated them if they had more meaning.

renamed Transylvania, becouse that was just part of whole Transylvania, renamed german-named city to correct regional one (as with trans.), made repairs on croatia, and moved slovenia to right place. Also added Nándorfehérvár, what became later Serbs capitol.

I did not get yet names for all the provinces, and some are correct (well, mostly, as all of EU provs can be )

If I could help anything I'm already happy, and if you want to makemore corrections (names, ect.) I would try to do that.

BTW: mostly nice work, keep it up!

Not Pozsony. It was always predominary Slovak region. The official name of the city was Pressburg, while local Slovaks called it Pozon.
