Long Island, New York, USA

Will Long Island, New York in the USA be represented on the map in HoI2? It was not on HoI1 and I was very disappointed. Long Island has major airforce bases, and New York City right next to it has major ports and is a major industrial center. To see the "New York" province as a big chunk of land with a little peninsula sticking out of it was sad, when Paradox represented even smaller less wealthy islands like Fiji [I know nothing about Fiji except thats in the Pacific and that its smaller than long island]

Long Island was also a main target for German U-Boats also. Long Island would be an adqueate spot to launch an invasion. Bombing drills were also done over Long Island.

I'd like to also see the entire world excluding Antartica, like Baffin Island Canada and the sea's north of the USSR even though there frozen =p

although it would be cool to see long island represented(spys did land in the hamptons and we did have radar stations at montauk) it wasnt a major part of ww2 and highly unlikely to be seen in a strategy game

I've definitely heard of U boat sightings and stuff, and I'd at least like to see it be a given an island shape...but I don't think we Long Islanders deserve our own province

I'd have no complaint if Long Island were in. North America needs many more provinces. They put the UP in as a seperate province, and there still isn't anything there other than trees and the copper mines. And they've misnamed it too; everyone knows that Escanaba is the heart of Yupper land

I ment it should be its own province because of geographical terms, it is an island, and NYC is right. The strategic terms just help my cause

Escanaba? Never hear of it. I do agree that North America needs more provinces.

As have been said before, the strategical importance of a lot of those small Pacific islands is a lot greater than the strategical importance of Long Island since you might just as well land in New York province instead (thinking in an agressor perspective) it won't make much difference. I'd rather see a lot more provinces in USSR (already done), China (done too I think) and South America. USA has enough beaches to defend without adding another one...
