Lots of different questions... hoping for input

I noticed mechanized units gradually become harder (less softness) with technological increases yet the same is not true for armor; armor softness stays the same through out. What's the logic here? Why does armor not emulate mechanized in this fashion as well? Has anyone tried modding armor where the softness factor improves with technology? If so, how did this affect game play?

How about motorized speed compared to armor or mech? Why is motorized slower? On open plains (high infra, roads, etc.) historically motorized units were the fastest. Trucks move faster than halftracks and tanks yet the game has it the other way around... anyone thought about this?

What about the air attack value of a battleship compared to a light cruiser. Historically, the best AA equipped BB was the USS Iowa sporting 20x 5in guns (5in guns with proximity fuses were unsurpassed in AA effectiveness), 80x 40mm AA and 49 20mm AA. The best AA equipped light cruiser (I forget the exact class) was USN and it had 12x 5in guns, 28x 40mm, and 10x 20mm. CLEARLY, the Iowa has three, if not four times the AA power yet in game the best BB has an AA rating of what? 6? While a CL has an AA rating of 15? Shouldn't this be the other way around? Has this been discussed already? Any mods address this?

How about brigades? I know this subject has been beat to death but is there a mod out there which has found a nice balance making brigades more cost effective? I mean good God, hvy and super heavy armor is so beyond worthless why even offer it as an option? How hard is it to make them a little cheaper or a little stronger? As is, is there really ANY situation where they are worth the investment?

That's about it for now. Apologies if I sound negative. HoI is truly the greatest WWII strategy game ever made. It just seems to me there is still some tweaking needed and a few illogical ideas.

They're good questions allright... :) And it's part of the reasons mods exist, I guess. We tend to debate all unit stats and try to make them as historical as possible within CORE. As they aren't nation specific it's always a question of debate. Better units can be researched, giving better stats. apart from that you can effect morale, org, trickleback, offense/defense values etc.
Unit speed in Vanilla is way over the top, in any case. I can't recall the exact unit speeds we use within CORE on the top of my head, but if they're off that area is always open for debate. Just bear in mind that the unit speed should present the unit speed of the formation as a whole.
