Wait, you are absolutely right? I mean we all have PRE - orders. They are PRE for a reason!!! They ship them early because they are PRE - orders!!

Back in the day when EU I was being released in the United States, EB had a problem with their warehouse. As I recall, it was supposed to be released the Tuesday or Wednesday of that week (which happened to be my midwinter vacation from high school) So I was all happy to be finally getting the game that I had been dreaming about for so long:) . So at 10 AM on the day EU I was supposed be out I was at the Lynwood, Washington EB. I looked and looked for the guy with facial hair kneeling with a sword but alas! he was nowhere to be seen. I asked the clerk if they had Europa Universalis, his response was "What the hell is that?" I responded a "computer game". He checked the computer and said it would probably show up the next day.

So I came back the next day at 10 AM, different clerk (the good one) and asked if they had it, he said "not yet but the UPS guy hasn’t showed up yet" so we waited and the UPS guy came and the clerk (Phil) checked and no EU:( .

This process continued until Saturday at 10 AM, when they finally got the game.

and to answer the obvious question of "Why didn't you buy the game from somewhere else?" I didn't have any money but I did have store credit at EB!:D

Coming out on the 27th is old news, and I don't mind that.

Coming out on the 29th? I haven't heard that at all. If it is true, I'll buy from Babbages. If both are delayed....

Then this is yet more shoddy handling of production on SF's part.

It all depends on what type of shipping is selected, at least thats how pre-orders have worked for me. I usually jump between gamestop and EB for online orders and both usally ship out in timely fashion. Sometimes I get my orders faster from gamestop but I think that has to do with their warehouse location. BTW, Gamestop.com has HOI listed at 39.99 which is 5 dollars cheaper than EB. I pre-ordered mine from there and used the 5 dollars saved to get 1 day shipping:D

pushing the deadline back does suck but it is good for me because that way it wont keep me adicted to the computer while I'm trying to do my term paper.

Starting Tuesday after next at 3:30 AM, I begin the grand Pilgrimage.

I will be traveling to Nashville from Atlanta for Thanksgiving break.

On the way, I will, with Glod as my witness (and a printed sheet here) hit every single Best Buy, Media Play, Gamestop, and other game store and harangue, plead, and beg with employees until I find a store that has Hearts of Iron and will give it to me.

The remainder of the way home to my wiating computer will be driven at breakneck, unsafe speeds, while demanding my cousin read the manual aloud to me as I driving jerkily and haltingly through traffic, visions of glory going through my head.

When I get home, I'm not leaving my computer for 48 hours. Then I eat. Then another 72 hours of play. Then I'll pass out and wake up in time to return to college and coherence.

I was just thinking that maybe this delay is a good thing, flying back to see the family and while my Mother is cooking the turkey playing HOI, not following the dinner conversation while contemplating how exactly I am going to defend Paris, now that Belgium has joined the Axis, sneaking away early to play more.

Just think of all the horrible temptation that I will avoid by picking up the game on Friday!

:D

Another thing to be thankful for...

You forgot many important things.
1. Leave the computer open and the cd-drive empty and out
2. Leave all lights on and doors open (including the front door, don't want to lose time trying to find your keys)
3. Take all the leftovers from the Thanksgiving dinnner with you
4. On the way back have your cousin open the cd-case and have the cd ready for you.
5. Upon arriving take the CD and the bag of leftovers, rush out, leave the car open
6. Put CD in already open drive, install, put leftovers on CPU while installing
7. Play
8. Eat the leftovers that have been already warmed up by the CPU(to ensure this take out the fan before you leave)
9. Play

Had the same thing happen to me Called on Saturday and he said it would be in when the UPS delivery came. Went to the mall and no UPS guy yet.. Just sat around the mall entrance waiting for the UPS guy to arrive and followed him in to EB.:)
