I have recently downloaded CK2 for OSX from Steam. When I start the game, the loading screens and hints display as everything loads. After a while, the loading screen picture is replaced with a 3d map and the loading borders start to withdraw. The problem is that they withdraw extremely slowly. Eventually (~40s after the map appears), they reveal a sliver of the top row of menu buttons. The buttons work, and starting a game clears the borders completely. This isn't a game breaker, but it is quite annoying. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

I hadn't modified any files or installed any mods when I first saw this problem, I've since installed the Game of Thrones mod. CK2 is version 1.05g, checksum is GUHH.

I'm using OSX 10.6.8 on a 2009 iMac with a ATI Radeon HD 4850. I'm up-to-date with all the OS/driver updates from Apple.

I switched to running CK2 windowed at a slightly lower resolution (1600 x 1000). The borders were still slow to retract, but I could do something else while they finished. After the game had been started a few times it sorted itself out - the borders now retract at a sensible speed.

I'm getting a bit of slowdown, the occasional crash and the water is a strange shade of purple, but it's playable :D

I had this issue and managed to circumvent it by (strangely) taking screenshots. Every time i took a screenshot the broder retreated by a tiny bit, so I kept going until it vanished. I tweaked the resolution setting and it never happened again.
