It's not clear to me if the game has ever worked on this PC before, or not.
IF NEVER:
Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\crusader kings ii\DX\ and run dxsetup.exe
If that doesn't help, please try installing:
First: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8328
Then: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
(If that doesn't do anything then http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 )
Then: visit the Windows Update site and allow it to apply all .NET updates/patches it wants to, for all .NET versions.
IF IT USED TO WORK AND NOW DOESN'T:
Please try a full clean re-install:
- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-CK2
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
IF NEITHER OF THOSE HELP:
Please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the end of the "Sound devices" section for brevity) and your Documents/CK2/settings.txt. From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ directory, post system.log . Open setup.log in notepad and search for 'checksum', post that line only here too please.
... And how to make a dxdiag.txt ?
how to post dxdiag
start > run > dxdiag
then save the file to a text file, copy the text from the file and post here between code tags
Code:text here
and it'll look like this
Code:text here

Is there no /logs/ folder under where you found settings.txt ? Or is there one? If so is there anything in it at all?
One thing that can cause problems like this is if you've moved your Documents folder without using the official Microsoft procedure. use notepad to create a text file in your steam/steamapps/common/Ck2 folder called userdir.txt . In that file place a single dot (period, full stop). That will make the game create user files there instead of under the documents folder.
You put a dot at the end of your last word in that post ... here are three more for you to use ...
Oh sorry Im not so really really good in English.Ok so I created the text file and placed a singel dot in that folder, but that gived nothing.
What do you mean "gived nothing " ?
Go into your CK2 game folder and start the game from CK2game.exe directly without Steam. Does the game load ?
Sorry that sounded a bit uncultural. Still the game freezes.
Well, if the game still doesn't get into the menu, even without Steam and starting it directly from ck2game.exe and you properly created the userdir.txt, then i don't know.
...wait. You placed a single dot in the folder ?
You should place the single dot in the "userdir.txt" file. The userdir.txt file should be in the ck2 game files folder. Is that a misunderstanding ?
ALLELUJAH THE GAME WORK!!!!!! Thanks man for the help. But the game loads very slow. I think I wait for the new patch to come out when I start a new campaign.
So what was the difference to before ?
The game always loads slowly the first time around. Next time should be faster.
Good to know that it works now.![]()
Yeah, but the game loads some 5 min. Before the game was loading 2 min and when I click CTRL+ALT+DELETE and I click the task menager It is written that the game doesnt answer.
