They'd have to switch from CK rules to EU2 rules to Victoria rules, maybe even to HOI rules (the Victoria stuff could probaly just be modded) all in one game. It'd be impractical, unless they've come up with a system that works across all of them, as they (fairly successfully) did with civ3
I am turned off by historically/realistically blandly modeled games.

Who finishes a game anyway?

I've never finished HOI, always get bored after I "win" sometime in 1945-1946 at the latest, in EUII, I usually get information overload about 1650, when I get 10 or more messages per motnh as my 150+ province empire grows into an unmanagable nightmare. I dont want a supergame for a longer time period. I have actually finished one EUII game(as england no less, the sun never sets......). Thats one game in 3 years of regular playing.

Besides what rule system would be appropriate for horse nomad archers, catapults, knights, pikemen, musketeers, cannons, castles, railroads, rifles, mechanized infantry and nuclear weapons? Focus on an Era, make a great game that reflects historical possibility, and then do another game on another era.

I assume that Victoria save games are going to be text files similar to EU2 save games, so it shouldn't be too hard to make a converter...

i think this kind of game would focus too little on things that make each era unique and it wouldnt be fun iMo. but thats just me =)

I think he means the ability to load up games in the paradox game of the next period...

Play CK game to the end, load it up in EUII, play EUII to the end, load it up in Victoria, play victoria to the end, load it up in HoI.

I would love something similar to that, it may require some extensive revisions to the other games, like an HoI II and some modificatiosn to the victoria time line. I like what paradox is doing with CK and EUII, that is going to be great, I hope if that goes well they will look into expanding that system to the rest of their games.

Actually, I don't think so. By analyzing his post in context with preceding posts, my logic is that he was also concurring with others' wants of a really long "super game."
Also, there is no known Paradox game that starts in 800.
