One thing I plan to do when I build my city, is to grab a child and name him after myself. Then can follow "myself", as I grow up in my city. I can see myself living in my parents home, going to school and back. Then I move out to an apartment and find a job. Hopefully, my romantic live in the game will be better than in real life, so I'll get married, have kids, and move to a suburban home. Finally, I die.

I think, doing this will really personalize the city for me: I will get to know certain neighborhoods intimately, just like you know your own part of town very well. It will literally become my "second home".....until I die :p (I wonder if I will be around long enough for me to mourn my own death?)

My estimate of CiM's death was 18 hours of game play :) which is about 60 years in-game (i can be wrong)

You can always create new 'YOU' anytime though :)

Make sure to create high education institutes

Nope.

I have no interest in arranging furniture.

But I do like to follow someone around, and experience the city through his eyes.

I agree. Though I recall co_martsu said during the most recent livestream there is no way to 'bookmark' a cim, you need to know where they live. It might be hard to track a child once they move out. Hopefully they introduce a system like what SC4 had where you can keep track of various cims.

Do they even move out in the game? We know nothing of the cims family and mating habits. Maybe a cim is assigned to a house and does not move (but will upgrade a house). Maybe all children inherit their parents house? - I hope they move out of their parents basement.

I liked that system, & seeing what they were up to, but didn't they moan. Always griping about something or other. Mind you, I suppose they had a reason in a lot of my cities, as there was good reasons to complain. :)-

I'm pretty sure that they said in one of the streams that cims prefer living in different kinds of housing in different areas based on their age and would move around the city into different kinds of housing and jobs as they became adults and started going to college and working part time and then when they start a family and have kids and then when they get old and retire.

I recall somewhere someone said that you can ask the chirper to locate a person. My name is pretty unique, at least in South Africa, so I'll be easy to find.

I think what was said is that you can click on the cim sending the tweet and you'll be centered on that cim.

Aw! I guess I'll just have to remember where I live then. I'm bound to come home sometime.

I do hope that if you can't do this at release, they'll release a DLC for it (TotalyMoo...please chirp to CO)

I dare say a mod can be made to locate a Cim. We had one that did this in TS3, as Sims were impossible to find in that too, you had to click on every house in the world seeing who lived there.

They had a feature in the original CiM that allowed you to "bookmark" cims. Then you could go to the list and find and follow them.

Yeah, I think it's pretty silly to let you name damn near everything but not have a system in place to locate anything quickly and easily. In one of the cities I'm planning, which I'm not playing to "play a game with" but more make a living model city, I'll be naming hundreds of people and wouldn't want to have to just find them at random if I'm wondering what a specific person is up to.

And it's been a while since I've played SimCity 4, is that feature a mod? The only thing I remember was being able to add sims that you'd made in The Sims. Is there a way to add/rename citizens in your town without making them in the Sims first?
