now all they need to do is take a rather serious balance pass on the new weapons. LB2x's and LB 5x's are stupidly powerful, with UAC-2 and 5's not far behind. UAC's should be 100% more powerful then their base line weapons BUT they're supposed to have a significant chance to jam to off set that. Also greater mass to handle the increased firepower of the weapon. reduce some dame and add a nasty quirk/potential problem. The LB weapons how ever are just over the top. LB-2 are tossing out 48 damage and 12 on the base weapon and 72 damage with the ++ version. Base AC-2 damage is 25! Just a bit OP! The LB5X's in some ways are worse! Base AC 5 is 40 damage.. LB5 base is 60 damage and 20 stability damage while the ++ version keeps the damage but stability damage rockets up to 60. I took a rifleman and dropped 2 LB5X++ and 2 LB2X++ on it.
I didn't miss often as I have my best gunner in it. Potential damage per turn is 264 points which is not bad and a whopping 144 points of stability damage put on the target
I'll be the first to admit the AC's needed some love but this is over the top, and it's going to make it very difficult to balance clan weapons when in the future the game gets to that point.
Game dev guys... 35 years of battletech. Please please PLEASE respect the tabletop games balance and stop thinking that you can do it better because you can't. That's 35 years of player feedback and testing. I knew what I was expecting the game to be. I was not expecting a challenge from the AI stuff because frankly you need serious expertise there and you just don't have it. It might not even be available with this particular game engine. It's not that it technically difficult, which it is, but that the amount of decision making core would slow the game down even more.
What I was expecting is a game that would maintain the TT's original balance and come on to it's own as the core of a battletech PvP MMO. Right now ever, it aint good nuff.
Please work on that during 2020.
