Hi. I need a little help with EU IV (obviously

On max speed the days are going incredibly slow. (One day = 1.5 seconds).
So I did a little test, not sure if it was useful but I went into task manager, ended most processes (only kept the ones necessary to run windows) then loaded up EU IV with all DLCS such as Art of War, Conquest of Paradise, ect.
But it is horribly slow. Why is this? My CPU Usage is around 50% on max and my Physical Memory is at 72%. I also went to the website, Can you RUN it. And my system apparently surpasses in minimum and recommended. So what's the issue here?
CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) 9600 Quad-Core Processor
Graphics Card: Nvida Geforce 550 TI
CPU Speed: 2.3 GHz
Ram: 4.1 GB
OS: Windows 7
Any help to which is causing the very slow day turns? It's frustrating.
