I've been really wanting to know what all the different faction types are, but I can't seem to find anything on it.

So, does anyone know what all the different types of factions and their demands are?

I know about progressive (egilatarian) factions, authoritarian factions, supremacist factions, isolation factions (xenophobe, pacifist) but what about the others?

Also, I wanted to know what alien xenophobes, besides attempting to migrate to an empire where they are the primary species if possible, will do? Will they make their own supremacist factions?

Not sure about the prosperity league, cknoor had it in his empire but 0% of his empire had materialist and it was a popular faction. There also appears to be two different pacifist factions with different demands that can appear at the same time in the live streams.

Wiz said something about one of them attracting both pacifists AND xenophobes. Even when we already had a separate xenophobe faction (in his case the Starfish Superiority Party)

Factions must be more malleable then they let on.

Yeah I'm getting the feeling that some of the factions have multiple ethics attached to them, which would make sense I suppose. So Prosperity League might actually be a Materialist/Pacifist combination or maybe Materialist/Egalitarian, kinda like the peaceful traders. So some of the factions are probably combinations of various ethics.

You are probably right, the prosperity league had a peace demand.

Guys, the isolationist factions are a combination of xenophobe and pacifist. The devs have said multiply times that factions can have 2 ethos, and they used that as their specific example.

Thanks Litewraith for the info. Didn't know what the prosperity factions did.

Prosperity league is the Pacifist non-xenophobe faction they introduced in last week's stream. Wiz explicitely said that it felt weird to have Pacifists trigger Isolationist Factions per default, thus they moved it to be a Pacifist-Xenophobe faction and made Prosperity the default Pacifism faction (maybe interlinked with another ethic, afaik that wasn't clarified).

Think of it as needing to live well enough to deserve living on tomb worlds. If they are living on the tombs but they aren't doing anything to be worthy of it they become unhappy.

yeah, but they are removing target-purges. even purges of unworthy.

I'm still holding out hope for a Vichy 2 style political factions with minor but significant differences even within the same type.
i do hope that you're right.that would've been great and would also add a bit of diversity in the gameplay.

Went through the streams again, because being an unemployed computer programmer is so much fun (sigh) and grabbed some more factions.

Citizens Elite Union
Royalism - Want hereditary rule
Stratified Society - Want caste system, limited Citizenry, slavery or purging
Baseline Slavery - At least 12 enslaved Pops
Regional Governance - ((He didn't hover over it, but he gained their approval after putting a governor in a sector. So I'm guessing thats what it is))
Military Discipline - 6 armies on any world with 6 or more Pops on it.

Alien Rights Network
Indirect Xenology - Passive Studies on Native Interference
No Purge Policy - Outlaw purging
All Refugees Welcome - Allow refugees fleeing purges or enslavement
Foreign Ties - Have Diplomatic Ties with all your neighbors

Defense First League
Stalwart Defense - Defensive wars only
Minimal Diplomacy - No research agreements, migration treaties or defensive pacts
Refugee Restrictions - no refugees
Non-aggression pact - ((Didn't hover over it, but I'm assuming its the same as the one from my first post))
Peace Everlasting - 50 years of peace
Deep-Space Defense - 1 military station in every colonized system

Whetstone Initiative
Aggressive Diplomacy - wants unrestricted wars
Subjugation - pleased when conquering alien planets or making them your subjects
Border Expansion - pleased when Frontier outposts to expand borders
Local Rivalry - Rivailing at least 1 neighboring empire
Neighborhood Rivals - Rivalling at least 2 neighboring empire
Strong Alone - Don't join Federations

Since I'm actually paying close attention to the stream this time around, Wiz tried to suppress a militant faction, and immediately had to stop suppressing them since they were going to revolt on him.

To be honest I think I'm actually more excited about factions and these internal politics than I am about the flash stuff like ascensions or mega-structures.

There are probably more factions, but if I recall correctly, Wiz said that there was a certain amount, but the names of the factions were randomly generated. I can't recall the exact number but I want to say it is 10 or 12, but I could be wrong on that. Still, I'm looking forward to experiencing these factions.

I just wished but cKnoor and Wiz would have done more special projects in today's stream!

Thanks for the info.

And you should be more excited for this stuff then the flashier things. Megastructures and being able to eat people might be fun but its ultimately just frosting (which is why its in the paid pack) the real stuff that will truly make the game better is stuff like factions, unrest, and traditions, this stuff is the cake.

Those shall be my supporters in my first utopia game, dedicated to the proper order! Just like a cow can't be happy in the sea, can't a peasant be happy without proper guidance by a superior caste! We wont defy the divine will of royal blood and off course needs each world knights(army) to guide peasant to proper obedient conduct!
