If an annexed country is liberated in the same session (say, China or Ethiopia), the new puppet won't get all (if any) of its leaders/ministers save a few. Saving and reloading still works wonders.

2. leader XP system is back
3. automated production system is better. In 1.1 even with +1 money/day it don't put consumer goods slider exactly at +- 0 dissent. It always was bigger by 0.02 points. For example 12.34/12.36. Small difference but waste. Now it's exactly at 0 dissent.
4. probably convoy system is better - but I have no checked it yet

So it's better, but it's not revelation. Now it works how 1.0 should work at once. I supposse that they have a few people assigned to this project only. Most of these changes can be done very fast. For example automated spying is already in game. It works for AI so it should work for human. It's the biggest pain of DD in my opinion.

As always minor things are always made big things. We play as part of the Aussie group in MP and apart from some sessions where we may have 3 or 4 crashes in a short time we do manage to get 2-3 hours solid gaming. A very enjoyable and engrossing game with so much to do especially in MP. I reccomend you do not get put off by people making bugs known. Quite often these are small issues which can get fixed in later patches. In such a detailed game the number of bugs is rather minor and definately do not affect the game in such a manner as you cannot play.

You have this not only with Freefrench but also with Vichy ( Type III Naval bomber) , with Mengucko ( Type II Militia) and some others.
My assumption is , that the event scriptors doesn't know that internal type numbers start with 0 instead of 1.

Yes, exactly. 1.2 is an improvement, but a relatively small one for that.
But I almost give up on HoI/DD anyway. Sometimes I even hope that we've seen the last patch, then the community could think about fixing what can be fixed on our own.

I feel like the disappearance of the bug forum since the release of HoI 2 kind of cut in half the level of support as a result. I don't doubt the intentions or dedication of the people involved, but I seriously doubt what came out of it, what's visible to the community.

I don't know, it has happened once for me 2 times on row.
Autosave was bugged and my save after a few days was corrupted. Mayby bad luck or something it's really wrong. It's never happened to me with old versions. Time will show.

Haven't heard of the latter before. And yes, 1.2 is fun to play. It has some bugs, and Intelligence is very badly balanced, but the game is fun.

I doubt that. I'm sure this is intentional, both to stop the new nations being destroyed in their infancy, and to reduce later upgrade costs (France stuck out in the African boonies can't afford to reinforce its existing planes, never mind upgrade them).

Tried a quick look at unit names in DB folder, but it didnt seem to reference a model number (as in the model pictures).

Open the unitnames.csv file and delete the lines that contains 'Esc F'


For germany the section that begins with:
