Lion of the North - Sweden can into league leader?

Hey, I'm going for the 'Lion of the North' achievement, but in the last three runs I've tried, I've never become the leader of the protestant league.

I have no idea what decides the protestant league leader, so does anyone know what the criteria is, so I don't end up doing another pointless run?

As soon as the event that the Evangelical Union has been created fires, join the Protestant League and you'll most likely end up the leader, especially if you're powerful.

If you are extremely much more powerful than electors, you can be a league leader.

If you have a truce with the Emperor it will default to another nation or if you are weaker than anyone else in the league on your side. In my last game I joined the league and became the leader, then when I had a truce with the Emperor it switched to Great Britain, then after the truce expired it switched back to me. At all times my nation was the most powerful in the league.

That must be it during my last run, I think I had a truce when the league war was started. But I never been able to become league leader, even when I don't have a truce with the Emperor. It was Bohemia up until we both fought the emperor together, even though I had 15000 more troops than them, more provinces several times over, and more development.

Electors are prioritised, but other nations can be a leage leader, if they are much more powerful than electors.

Afaik I prioritizes electors first and HRE members second, but being much larger is key. Bohemia starts as the largest elector, if it expands abit you might have to be very large im not sure. My Sweden owned all the lands of Denmark, Norway, Novgorod and Muscovy when I was elected leader.

It prioritizes electors to the degree that you need to reduce them to OPMs for them to lose league leader status.

A bit overstated, but the preference for electors is really getting on my tits.

According to the Wiki you dont have to be the leader to get the achievement. I´m not really sure if its true because when i got the achievement i was the leader.

You have to "lead the Protestant League to victory against the Emperor." as quoted from the achievement itself. Tell me how that is not being leader of the league?

I usually follow that list, it has never fooled me. The achievement discriptions on steam are often misleading.

I completed it without being league leader, but that was before common sense

Unless you can lead the league war without being league leader, the entry in that link is contradicting itself.

The important part is in the notes, where it says you dont have to be the leader. But to be sure, make yourself really strong and be named leader. Just join the league as soon as its available and declare as soon as possible. Thats what i did and i got the achievement.
