Whenever I switch from full-screen CK2 to the desktop (e.g. using Alt+Tab) and back into the game the ui is "broken".

"broken" means:
- My monitor switches to 1024x768 (it was 1920x1200).
- however CK2 does not render the interface like it would when starting with that extremly low resolution. It seems to me as if all the elements are still using the initial pixel size but using the wrong screen resolution. I attached a screenshot (a few pixels of because Gnome's screenshot tool doesn't really like full screen OpenGL apps).
- mouse cursor is "weird": I can move the cursor but the click is not registered where the cursor is displayed but "somewhere else" (usually much lower). I can see the active area by some buttons changing their color slightly (even though the pointer is rendered in a different position).

I'm using Fedora Linux 20 with Gnome Shell.
- latest CK2 beta patch (2.2.0.4)
- AMD Radeon 6450
- Open Source drivers: Mesa 10.1, r600

I started to see this problem I think one stable release before (I think 2.1, maybe 2.0). Before it worked fine. It's a bit annoying because any other software getting in front of the game ui (some very stupid notifications) will render the game ui useless, I have to restart the game.

Is there any hope that this can be fixed or am I on my own as I'm not using Ubuntu?

I believe this bug happens with all Linux distros, and there has been no attempt to fix it I'm afraid.

The easy workaround is to bypass the launcher; in Steam-properties-set launch options paste in

-skiplauncher

I can confirm I have the same issue in Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon (Ubuntu based).
It also foobars my cinnamon desktop after a reboot and Nvidia support. But I managed to fix that by deleting the ~/.config/monitors.xml file.

Is there something in Linux like the toolbar in Windows, which will hide usually by my settings for it and show up if i move my mouse to the bottom ?

I don't alt+tab on Windows and simply adjusted my settings.txt. for this:
Code:
graphics=
{
    size=
    {
        x=1910
        y=1070
    }

    refreshRate=0
    fullScreen=no
    borderless=no

So when in game i only move my mouse down , the toolbar shows up and i can switch to the desktop or open a program already in the toolbar or through 'start'.

I'm really curious if this works on Linux or any of it's distros. No ? Yes ?

It is possible in my Linux distro (LM 17 Cinnamon). If I right click my toolbar and choose "panel settings" I have the option to auto-hide it. If I then move my mouse to the bottom of the screen it comes active.
I don't know how it works in CK2 though, because I do play full screen.

Well, then try it with 'windowed' and adjust the x and y values to your screen. :)
Might work.
