I can't change the display resolution of the game. Before 2.0, this was possible.

Also, save games weren't supposed to be broken, were they? Now I can't play my old game even though save game problem supposedly was fixed with the hotfix.

You are probably editing the wrong settings.txt file. In 2.0 they moved the location of the user files like that, to a more Linux-standard-friendly location. See the sticky "file locations" thread above.

There are still only the files in the documents folder. Not the ones specified above. And the settings file in there doesn't work unless i downgrade to 1.11 or sth.

Ubuntu 12.04

Also, are my save files going to work after a possible update?

Thanks for the help.

I don't understand. In 2.0 the Documents folder, including save games folder and settings.txt, was certainly and definitely moved to the location I described. Here's a case of someone confirming that
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?735614-Linux-After-update-doesn-t-find-saves

Unless you are using the userdir.txt trick, the game is definitely looking there for saves and settings. Obviously your existing saves weren't automatically moved to "/home/user/.paradoxinteractive/Crusader Kings II/save games/", you'd need to do that yourself.

The saves ought to load, yes. There may be some compatibility issues across a major update like v1 to v2 but they should basically load and play.
