Linux: After update doesn't find saves

After updating to 2.0 the game doesn't find my saves any more. It seems to expect them in a different folder now, but I cannot navigate anywhere else either.

Been reported in german subforum and somehow fixed.


A guy had his saves in (example, account name changed for privacy) originaly in:

/home/maxwild/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/save games


"changed path/moved files " somehow to:


/home/maxwild/.paradoxinteractive/Crusader Kings II/save games


and the game found the saves again.

I can't explain this though. No good idea myself how Linux works.
You might figure it out. Hope this example helps.

Hello,

I confirm the solution given by Aardvark Bellay.

The patch changed the default directory for CK2 user files. It also probably displayed the language selection screen again. Thats because the settings file is also located to this new location.

Just copy or move your saved games from one location to an other.

The new location (.paradoxinteractive) is a linux flavored folder for storing app files, the old one (Document/....) is Windows style.

Thanks, that helped. Was always annoyed by that extra folder in my home folder, glad that this is more Linuxy now.

Thank you Aardvark. Problem solved. I don't know where that directory is or what the "." signifies, but I copied and pasted "/home/YOURHOMEFOLDERHERE/.paradoxinteractive/Crusader Kings II/save games" into the location bar of an opened folder, and copied my games from the old folder and moved them there.
