Right now, Clan / Feudal governement are linked to title history (if a title was muslim and went from tribal to clan, the title will stay clan even if the holder change religion)

Clan is not as muslimesque as iqta was in CK2, some other religions would beneficiate from having a relation based (instead of contract based) governement.

So, this is a suggestion to link 'Opinion based (Clan)' or 'Contract based (Feudal)' to a Faith doctrine, like the gender laws.

I like the idea of making permitted governments a Doctrine (possibly with "Either way" for Zoroastrianism, since Persia's had a variety of government styles) but I don't like making it mandatory. Perhaps a decision to change a title to the favored government of your religion? So if Egypt converts, they can adopt feudalism, but they can also maintain the clan government if they choose.

I agree with this. There should be some way to switch between feudal and clan governments, with a faith's doctrines determining which government form is preferred.

So yeah came here to suggest exactly this since I'm honestly surprised they didn't do this from the start. Or even have a decision that allows you to switch to your religions preferred government type.

Anyway this would also be great for potential future additions to the existing governments. If for example they decide to make a new unique version of feudal for indian region or the african region they could really easily just add a new doctrine for it. (though perhaps if they come up with an imperial government for say the byzantines I think that one should probably not be tied to religion.)

Weren't there Christian places that functioned in more clan like fashion such as Armenia? I'm going off what Elvain has posted.
