Limited forum access (was to Secret Master)

Many thanks for your offer of help, unfortunately I am unable to send a PM to you. I have posted this new thread in case you thought I had chosen to ignore you - apologies for again not using the general HOI3 forum correctly.

I get the following error message, which is the same error message I now get when I click on my previously saved "favourites" link that went to the support forum for HOI3 from when I first registered it more than a year ago.

Yes Comsubpac I am sure the restricted access message is all part of my problem, that includes not even being able to view posts that I have previously made because they are now in restricted access forums.... which is all part of my reason for posting in the first place.

Anyway, the good news is that my registration to HOI3 has reappeared, as has my access to the HOI3 support forum, so mods can please lock this thread, and when Secret Master has read the first post I hope he deletes this thread so as not to clutter this forum with non appropriate posts.

My thanks to whichever Admin waved their magic wand and re-registered my HOI3!

Your first thread was posted just a couple of threads below this one originally (so it wasn't moved to a restricted area, you might just have overlooked it) and the forum-administrator did already respond in that thread

You have two problems,
1) You have not responded to an e-mail confirmation the last time you changed your e-mail address, or from when you registered.
2) You do not in fact have HOI3 registered.

From your title, you can conclude that you still haven't responded to the confirmation e-mail sent to you.

Well my HOI3 now shows as registered once again, I have no idea what the confirmation email is about, I guess it could go back to 2005 when it says I joined the forum (although I thought I joined in 2001/2 when I first bought EU)?

I was trying to view a post I made some months ago, the last remaining post in my "previous" post count.

The only reason for starting this thread was to respond to Secret Master, I did not wish for him/her to think me too rude to send the PM they had requested, my previous thread in which Secret Master had asked me to PM had been locked, thus the neccesity of starting another thread rather than adding to the existing one.

If Secret Master has read my explanation for not PMing as requested then, as I previously requested, I should be very grateful if a mod could just delete my threads from the HOI3 forum (or now this thread in the help forum and the shadow in the HOI3 forum).

Your account gets set to restricted whenever you change your email address here, not just when you joined. So whenever you last did that, you were sent a confirmation email - all you have to do is respond to it.

I have never changed my email address. I have had the same AOL account since the 1990s.

I am pretty sure I responded to the email when I first joined the forum, but after all these years I could be wrong.....

Perhaps then you could change it now to some other address , that will generate a new mail for you. Once confirmed you could change it back again if you wanted to.

I only have one email account, but I shall ask my son if I can have it forwarded to one of his.

Oh I see you had an AOL e-mail, they decided long ago that we were evil and in their Orwellian ways also decide they know better than you so even if you put us in your safe list, they will not give you our messages.
I like to think this is the same attitude that led to their massive downfall.
