I wanted to use other criteria besides current trait picks (other picks during race customization) to limit whether or not a specific trait can be applied. However, the species_potential_add directive doesn't seem to work as expected. I can still add the trait whether the conditions apply or not. Is this because a species' characteristics are not applied until after the game starts? (meaning that testing for their characteristics beforehand doesn't work?)

Alright. So then I guess I will need to take care of it using an event at the beginning. of the game so that it gives options based on the limits. Only one is allowed to be picked anyway. It will also allow me to be fair to the other races and assign them appropriately.
