I saw that a lot of colonial nations expanding their frontiers beyond their colonial region and the result can be very ugly.
Is it possible to add an option to prevent colonial nations from colonizing outside their colonial region ?
Or an option to transfer provinces between 2 colonial nations (that will of course increase the colony liberty desire) ?
it's could be a very good feature for guys who depises border gore ... And i'm one of them ;)

This has been a constant requested feature that PDX seems to keep ignoring, but overall colonies as a whole need a complete rework and sadly I doubt it's going to happen

Didn't Paradox say that you will be able to limit the expansion after the next big update? I feel like that I read it in a dev diary once. Maybe I will find it, if so, I will let you know.

EDIT: There we go: Well they definitely did not confirm this feature, but at least we know that they have it in mind.

They added an event which may fire if one of your CNs colonises into an area of other, allowing you to draw the border at the defined colonial area border.
If I remember correctly, it was added in 1.29.

I agree with your post. Once colony is started and created the results you get are awfull. Ugly borders, even if you mark province as desirable, AI simply ignores you and randomly colonize provinces. I also started similar thred.
