As i understand, Colonial nations grant ship basic rights. You don't need to ask them for it.
For some reasons, my light ships protecting trade, will still go for repairs to provinces that belong directly to me despite having a colonial nation right next to their trade node protection route.

My frigates protecting carribean (having colonized the entire shore of North America and having colonial nations all arround there) still go for repairs in ... Reykjavik.
Is this intended?

I don't have maritime ideas, so every few months or so, i am losing a good chunk of trade power in carribean because of this ship repair route to reykjavik.

What can i do? Next time i will make sure i don't have a CN formed in a region. But because of lack of experience, i created danish colombia. I should have colonized only 4 provinces. Now I cannot even build the panama canal, and my light ships don't repair there :(

Colonial nations should give supply range to ships. Have you watched your trade ships to see where they are getting attrition then maybe you could drop a colony nearby to get supply range. Also I have noticed supply range not always getting updated and have to reload the game for it to kick in.

Repairing issue seems to indeed exist, my Carribean light ship fleet had little clash and then decided to go back to repairs to my home provinces (I was Denmark), even though I had nearby colonial nation that they could have used for repairs.
